About
Math Dojo
Math Dojo was created to strengthen the foundation beneath mathematics.
We noticed that many learners don’t struggle because they are incapable — they struggle because the thinking skills behind maths were never fully developed.
Math Dojo focuses on building those skills.
Inspired by the proven Japanese Soroban and Anzan methodologies, the programme combines structured mental training with hands-on, tactile learning. Learners don’t just practise sums — they build numbers, visualise calculations, and develop real number sense.
Our aim is simple:
To help children understand mathematics more clearly, think more confidently, and participate more actively in the classroom.
Classes are small, structured, and focused — ensuring steady progress and individual attention.
Strong foundations. Confident learners.
Where did the method originate?
The Soroban and Anzan methods originate from Japan, where they have been used for decades to develop strong mental calculation skills.
These methods focus on structured thinking, visualisation, and memory development — skills that support mathematical fluency far beyond basic arithmetic.
